Respimat Inhaler Instructional Films
Four instructional animations created to walk patients through every stage of using a Respimat inhaler, daily use, first time preparation, replacing a cartridge, and knowing when a device needs replacing.
The Brief
Respimat needed a clear, reassuring way to show patients exactly how to use, prepare, maintain and eventually replace their inhaler, each stage covered in its own short, self contained film rather than one long explainer. You would have thought that hand animating a ‘how to’ video on how to use an inhaler would not be a good idea but Catherine Turner asked us to create one and we’re glad we did. The process was tricky because the cartoon drawing of the Inhaler needs to be 100% accurate whilst also not feeling out of place in the style they existed in. What this resulted in was a set of beautiful short educational films that were charming and fun to watch. The old, boring way of doing this was chucked out and we created something that clearly communicated what you needed to do if you had an inhaler. All thanks to Catherine for taking a risk and trying something new and for trusting us to do it.
